Since 2006, Beyondly (formerly Comply Direct) has delivered customer-centric environmental compliance and sustainability solutions, driven by an ethos of always finding a better way to create a sustainable world for all. 

To mark our 20-year anniversary, we’re celebrating the defining moments and achievements that have shaped our legacy in each year since our incorporation on 2nd February 2006. We are also highlighting significant environmental milestones and positive global headlines that ran parallel to our growth, marking historic moments and reflecting the progress made across the globe over the past two decades.

Beyondly celebrates 20 years of always finding a better way

    Comply Direct Ltd formed on 2nd February and first approved as packaging compliance scheme.

    Meanwhile… ‘Carbon neutral’ became the New Oxford American English Dictionary’s ‘word’ of the year.

    In the headlines… Social media platform Twitter launched (now X).

    First approved as WEEE compliance scheme.

    Meanwhile… France launches first EPR scheme for textiles, covering clothing, footwear and household linens.

    Achieved Investors in People standard.

    Meanwhile… UK Parliament passed the Climate Change Act in November, making the UK the first country with legally binding carbon reduction targets.

    Workforce grew to double figures, with 10 employees now in the team.

    Compliance scheme customer base grew to 750 members.

    Meanwhile… Government Review of Waste Policy in England 2011 published, activating a strategic reset for England’s waste agenda and providing “a clear direction towards a zero waste economy”.

    In the headlines… England’s future King, Prince William, married Catherine Middleton, now Prince and Princess of Wales.

    Launched first sustainability services. Achieved BSI certification ISO 9001.

    Meanwhile… WRAP launched industry-led Sustainable Clothing Action Plan (SCAP), bringing together fashion retailers, charity retailers and textile recyclers to reduce the impacts of clothing consumed in the UK.

    Only UK scheme to have the Customer Service Excellence standard AND Investors in People Gold Award

    First delivered Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting service.

    Meanwhile… The pandemic accelerated the global energy transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy. Britain broke records for going without coal-fired power generation for the longest stretch since the Industrial Revolution.

    In the headlines… Second World War veteran Captain Tom Moore became a national hero when he raised over £32 million for NHS charities by walking 100 laps of his garden before his 100th birthday, earning a knighthood from the Queen.
