With the UK committed to reaching Net Zero by 2050, pressure is mounting on companies to reduce their climate change impact and become carbon neutral.
As we see environmental disclosure and supply chain transparency expectations grow, frameworks such as the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) and NHS Net Zero Supplier Roadmap require companies to disclose their environmental impact to stakeholders. The CDP platform allows stakeholders to assess a company's environmental performance, requiring the disclosure of emissions information, as well as water and forests. Leading the way in placing sustainability at the core of supply chains, from April 2027 the NHS require all suppliers to publish a carbon reduction plan for all scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions. NHS suppliers are asked to complete questionnaires via the Evergreen Sustainable Supplier Assessment, an online self-assessment and reporting tool for suppliers to share sustainability information with the NHS.
This is also reinforced as we see ESG considerations now central to investment decisions. With consumers choosing brands that align with their values and more drive to be an innovator against competitors, more business than ever before are choosing to lead the way and future proof their operations in this evolving landscape.
